Inserting lead flashing - any dangers to bricks?

Hi,
The lean to shed on our terraced house leaks a bit. And I found a roll of lead flashing in it -I assume the previous owner was going to put it between the extension and the roof of the shed.

I intend to chisel out to 2.5 cms of mortar and insert the flashing.
Is there any danger to the integrity of the house!? (I assume the remaining mortar is sufficient to support bricks above?)

The lean-to takes up half the width of the extension (the other half is the neighbour's).

Hope not a stupid question I'm being cautious!

Nothings a stupid question if you don't already know what the answer will be
There's no danger to the integrity of the house, indeed it will actually be better as there won't be water ingress.
2.5 cm or an inch in old money is about right. I always like to fold the lead to give it a vertical face inside the joint before inserting into the joint if wide enough, about a quarter to a half of an inch or so, then fix with small pieces of lead hammered in as wedges and point up with a mastic such as leadmate.
