Hi everyone,

i'm looking for a little help regarding the installation of some sanitaryware at a beauty salon. It's not your standard beauty salon though, they have a licensed practising doctor/surgeon and nurse that carry out small procedures on the premises and they are talking about expanding the onsite services they offer from the standard botox injections to the more involved technical procedures.

They require a basin and mixer tap to be installed in a room which has previously been used for consultations as this is to be transformed into a treatment room for the surgeon/nurse.

This is not something I usually get myself involved in as my bread and butter is heating and not so much plumbing but my partner is the salon manager and has badgered me into doing this and I have reluctantly accepted to look into it.

So before I do get any further involved, I was wondering if anyone could tell me/point me in the right direction of any regulations/british standards/health and safety legisltion that apply to installation sanitary ware in medical facilities as I'm assuming there must be some.

Many thanks in advance

HTM64 is the standard followed by the NHS for this sort of thing. Maybe a bit over the top for your situation but if you source basin/taps etc which are HTM64 compliant you should be well covered.
