Installing exterior side door in garage

Basically, I want to put one in. Found couple of threads on the subject here. Within this one:

It says make sure not to have it less than 700mm from the corner. Why is that? I've not made any measurement yet but I imagine I'll be close.

I believe it's a building reg to maintain structural integrity.

Found another tyread on here with a link to building regs. now I've read the regs but don't really know why it would affect structural integrity or how to get round it or reinforce the corner.

Guess its a question for building forum now.
