Hi
I've just installed a new one way dimmer switch, but when i turn it off the bulb remains on although very dimmly. Does any body know why this is and how i can stop it?

Check first that it is actually switched off - it'll either be a turn and click for on/off or a push on/off.

Also what sort of bulb are you using? If it's a low energy one, most are not compatible with dimmers and it might be flickering when on low

definitely clicked into off position and i'm using a normal 100w bulb.

well if it's still on, even if dimly, then there must still be electricity getting to the bulb, so I reckon the dimmer must be faulty. Can you change it for another or even swap back to a switch just to check there's nothing else strange going on?
