Kitchen Tap stiff suddenly

Kitchen mixer tap is stiff suddenly. It is 16 yrs old. Not sure how easy it is to fix or whether I should just buy a new tap. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Is this a 1/4 turn tap or traditional screw down type?

It has likely rusted/built up scale internally, so after 16 years time for a new one. You could try disassembling it and greasing it up, but it would be quicker to go to screwfix.

You'll likely need a new cartridge, some universal ones can be ok, but given the age, could be time for a new one
