Hi, I'm looking for some advice on how to restore the weathered larch cladding on my shed. The shed was finished in July 2022 and as you can see from the pictures it has become very weathered and it's nice original finish has been lost. The larch was originally treated with osmo UV protection oil but nothing since.

What is the best method for me to restore it as close as possible to it's original state? The shed is south facing so exposed to alot of sunlight. I think the splash back from the rain is also effecting it. Would sanding it first be recommended?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks,
Alex

You will need a wood cleaner and a product called Owatrol net-Trol, I haven't used this product, but then I wouldn't have larch.

Like you, I don't like the colour transition unless you are willing to accept the ineviatable or spend a fortune on restorer products.

Last year I bought some wood restorer for an outside hardwood table from lidl/aldi? it worked pretty well.
You either love the weathered look or you are on an annual revarnish routine. The only way off that treadmill is to use an opaque paint of some sort on it.
