Laying LVT such as Karndean on 18mm MDF

Hi Guys, I am over boarding an existing floor (after removal of old 18mm planks) so that the finished level will be up to the existing skirting.
Question is can the over boarding be MDF rather than ply ??

If it’s to joists then 18mm plywood or floorboards then overlay with 6mm high grade plywood like SP101 or FG1

So MDF is a no no ??

You can use that under the 6mm ply yes. But you can’t glue to it.
