I have a leaking mixer tap in the bathroom with water coming from below the handle. I need to take it apart. It is possible to turn the nut with an allen key clockwise or counter-clockwise, but the tap handle does not come off. The screw does not come out of the hole either despite rotating it as far as possible. Is it necessary to lever these to get the handle off?

This is the screw.

It is this kind of tap although not identical at the base.

Seems like it may need to undo more, failing that maybe try some silicon spray, wd-40 or even pouring boiling hot water over it - precursor- don’t forget the metal will heat up if you do this.

Thanks, boiling water done the trick. Somehow I managed to touch the tap after pouring boiling water on it despite the warning. :giggle:

No third party cartridges for the Hansgrohe tap cartridge though 92730000. Got the original at Screwfix.

Glad you got sorted, not so glad you touched the tap ;)
