Fellas in the throws of replacing my bathroom xtractor and have found that the 1mm twin and earth supplying it they are using cpc as supply for the s/l to fan unit
Thoughts appreciated as doesn't seen good practice to me Tia

It is not just bad practise. It is not allowed. All conductors should be double insulated and the cpc is not meant to be carrying anything but fault current.

Just replace the 2 core & earth with a length of 3 core and earth.
Connect up as before, remembering to sleeve the cpc green&yellow and connect.

Thanks for the heads up I've just taken the bathroom light apart aswell and they have used the cpc as a live feed as continuation of the lighting ring so I will and should check the rest of the lighting circuit

It's likely that the CPC at light is the same core as terminated at fan.
I doubt that your CPC is being used as a functional live conductor around the whole lighting circuit!
