My house is end of terrace ex council. Similar to hundreds of others in Harlow Essex.I qualify for a grant for loft insulation. British Gas have surveyed and have said that the 900mm from joist to apex is insufficient and dampness will occur.If this is true,is there any way to overcome this problem? The roof was re-tiled 4 years ago and vent tiles fitted in four locations.Any comments greatly appreciated. :?:
 
Is the pitch of your roof very low then? What is the gap between the ceiling and the tiles at the edges? Maybe they thought only two vents per side was insufficient. Photo?
