Would this be overkill for homemade loft flooring support, was looking at the loft stilts, but they all look really flimsy and have heard they warp, so was wondering about making my own using 28 x 140 to get above the insulation then 38 x 63 (or smaller if people thing smaller possible) and then osb, its for access and storage, would distibute weight but could include books toys etc.

Why not just fit continuous joists perpendicular to the existing trusses Or consider the loftzone system too. Literally hundreds of previous threads on this subject, use the search facility.

Shop bought are for people with inadequate time or skill to do their own.
Well engineered homebake stuff is superior.
Are you adding more insulation or is it already there?
I upgraded with 4" fibreglass between the joists then 4" kingspan over the top at right angles with a layer of hardboard to protect its foil
The kingspan was more than strong enough for storage and occasional access.

Bear in mind the health and safety brigade are now trying much harder to demonise loft storage...

Currently about 270 of insulation. Not looking for massive area, just enough for a bit of storage. Loft not suitable for my train set unfortunately

The continuous 170 to 200 joists will be very heavy, and cost if material in UK very expensive and less environmentally friendly as more timber. Will look at loftzone though i expect that will cost more. As for the search, every search i do says no results, probably just me.
