Main 24HE diverter valve O ring location

Hi, I have a leaking diverter valve on my main 24he combi. Does anyone know where the small O ring in the picture should be located within the diverter valve as I cannot find where it should go and my diverter does not seem to have it (or its perished and disappeared)

any help would be greatly appreciated

main 24he combi does not seem to use that small O ring, it must be another model, these parts are for many boilers, some may use O ring.
