Hi. i'm new to the site and hoping someone can help.
Just got back from hols and the boiler was working in that we had hot water but no heating. Checked the pressure gage and it was 0, so I thought the radiators needed bleeding, did them all, some slight air was trapped in a couple but nothing too excessive. Since doing that we now have no hot water and still no heat.

I've read bits on the forum tonight and see that it may be a tap which needs to be turned, I can see the flexi hose with two two taps, I can turn the one on the right, anti clockwise so it's in line with the pipe but the other won't turn at all?!

I'm also getting the light flashing on the flame burner when I turn the boiler on and try to run hot water.

Any help would be much appreciated... From a stressed out, very cold and actually ill novice at DIY (been ill all hols too - boo). Any help tonight would be much appreciated. I appreciate I may need an Engineer out however.

Thanks

Sorry you have been ill on your holidays.

You can look at the FAQ on this site.

But if a valve is jammed as often happens then you may need an engineer anyway.

The motto is to check the pressure every week and top it up if it goes below 1.0 Bar.

Then get the boiler serviced anually.

Tony
