making a dovecote

Has anybody any experience in building a dovecote. there are lots of web sites giving details of dovecotes for sale at high prices but I would like to have a go myself.
Any advice or details of where to look specifically will be appreciated

You could do what I did,
get yourself down to you local garden centre with a tape measure and pen/paper, or even a digital camera.
Build your dovecote based on their design!!!
