microwave make consumer unit trip

I have a combination microwave/grill/oven. The microwave works fine and causes no problems at all but lately whenever I use the grill or the oven part after about 8 minutes the consumer unit trips out. To get round the problem I've tried to do the cooking in bouts of 3 or 4 minutes allowing it to cool slightly before the next round of cooking, which seems to work. I've had a quick look inside the electrics of the microwave but nothing is obviously amiss ie no bare wires touching!! Any suggestions would be most welcome as it takes hours to cook something that should take 20 minutes.

I am not joking this is a diy forum, and microwave cookers as any appliance should be only be repaired by trained personel
