Moving hot water cylinder

Hi

I am moving a hot water tank with imersion,can i introduce a junction box{ Brown round type under the floor } to extend the cable to reach the new position of the tank, instead of taking it right back to the consumer unit, for which i would then need an electrician to connect to the consumer unit, Common sence tells me there is no problem but would just like to make sure.

Not unless it is accessible.

It would be better if you could do it without a junction box but if not and if it is to be hidden then use one of these maintenance free ones
