My Bath tub gurgles when upstairs neighbour drains bath

Hi,

As of recent my bath tub and sometimes my sink gurgle when the upstairs neighbour pull the plug in their bathtub

The property is a sandstone tenement flat.

I have had my bathroom refurbished but the problem developed about a month or so after the job was completed so unsure if this is related to the problem.

Is there anything I can do to diagnose the source of the problem, or better yet eliminate it?

You are sharing a downpipe and suction is causing the noise, you can add air admitance valve to cure.
