My Washing Machine Stinks!!!

Help!!! I rely on my washing machine as I use it two or three times a day. Just recently clothes have been coming out smelling like a damp mould... this smell is also in the washing machine itself.

How can I get rid of this???

Or do I just buy a new washing machine?

Have you tried running the machine empty, but on its hottest wash program?

A few other posts on this forum suggest that you should do this once a month to clear away any sludge that builds up from undissolved washing powder and conditioner.

I guess it might do the trick....

hi have u cleaned the filter or if there is a filter in front of the machine clean it and the pipe that leaves the drum and goes to the filter or if a hotpoint the filter can be found underneath the center of the machine small socks or even tongs can get lodged there and in time can smell

Try running the machine on a very hot wash without any soap powder. It usually unclogs any soap resedue which is the cause of the smell. Check the outlet filter if you can get at it, make sure its not clogged
