New shower - wet room style or shower tray?

Hi

Not sure if I've posted this in the right place ....

... we're looking at new showers and I've looked at walk through showers with the "wet room" floors - has anyone got one? Would you recommend it?

Just trying to work out if there are many pros or cons to them?? Less cleaning / harder to clean etc??

Would have been better in "Plumbing".

Is this to do yourself or have done professionally ?

Pros :

Lack of tray gives more space
Finish base any way you like - more attractive than plastic
Easier for people with restricted movement


Cons:

More expensive but not hugely so
Requires more expertise to fit properly
If it goes wrong, consequences much worse as failure hidden under floor for much longer
