Hi. I have a Next Bellagio light fitting like this:

http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/home...nxti=0#479-460&bct="Bellagio Light"

it is fitted with the compatible dimmer switch, and for the past year or so has been working no problem, no flickering or noise.

Then the other day, nothing! There was no trip in the fuse box outside just...nothing!

really don't know where to start to try and fix this so any help would be appreciated.

Should point out that it took a bit of hassle to try and fit the dimmers in the first place as they were special halogen compatible ones like this

Thanks in advance!

Its possible that the dimmer is knackered. Swop the dimmer for a standard switch and see if the light then works.

The other possible cause is you may find that there is an internal fuse inside the top of the light fitting.
It is there to protect the transformer if one of the bulbs draws too much current.

Firstly, use a multimeter or a proper voltage indicator (NOT a neon screwdriver) check that you have 230v between the live and neutral at mains connections at the ceiling.

If you have, check for a fuse and see if there is continuity. You'll need a new one if its poppped.
