No hot water

We have just moved house and have I have a glow worm 18 energy r boiler with no hot water. I have a flashing tap symbol on the boiler. (Is the normal) the central heating is working and we have downloaded the manual but no joy. Does anyone have any suggestions please.

your boiler is not a combi, most likely an external control is either turned off or faulty, if you are getting heating it is unlikely to be the boiler
