Noise comming from water cylinder when tap turned on.. Help!

Hi All,

I am hoping that you clever bunch might be able to help me out...

I have a problem regarding my hot water cylinder, when the hot tap is turned on there is a horrid creaking noise coming from what sounds to be inside the cylinder. It only makes the noise at first when the hot tap is turned on and turned off, not constantly. The creaking noisy is very strange, it sounds like the cylinders expanding and contracting..? or something rubbing inside..?

Any help would be great, as im very confused.... :eek:

stephenmx50, Are you sure that it is not the Hot water pipe expanding under a floorboard, or through a stud-wall?
