not turning off (boiler)

Sime friendly format 80e got a burning (elec) smell from the combi now the heating wont turn off unless its turned off at the switched spur?
Have done a couple of igniter box's on it and a diverter valve.

Without looking at it I cannot guess whats happened.

As always I would advise an honest competent boiler engineer who is CORGI registered.

Switch has shorted and melted in the on position and not shorting to earth, thats why it aint tripping the mains

You need to replace switch on boiler, could be done by yourself if you feel confident in your ability

Ta for the replies I never do anything gas wise but plumbing and electrics ok with.
