Opening a Hotpoint WD420

We have a WD420 washer dryer that refuses to work the cost of the repair is more than I want to spend on a 4yr old machine. The only trouble is there are some clothes still in it and I can't get the door to unlock!!!!!!! How do I get them out? Is ther a door lock overide???

Don't know of any door release override, unless you can put the machine on it's back & reach the release mechanism from below, failing that if you are going to scrap it then I think it would be easy enough with a crowbar or large screwdriver

Hotpoint machines have a 5yr parts warranty, they'll come and fix it for their £89 labour charge.

But from my experience once they start go go wrong you get to know the engineers quite well!!! This would be it's third visit for three different faults. I think it is probably time to replace it. Just need the clothes out of it first!!
