Hello all

First post here- be gentle!

Just moved into a new house and we want to re do three of the bedrooms.

All the rooms are about 14msq (give or take). Some have fitted wardrobes, one is wall papered.

We will remove wall paper, fitted units and carpet.

I want each room re plastered to a nice smooth finish, I also want the ceilings done and coving added (currently none).

I've had one quote at its £1250 + VAT.

Is this about right- or is this crazy talk?

It's crazy man. It should be double that.

It's about right but I'd give the coving a miss if I were you. It'll shout "Eighties" if you do. Modern way is nice square walls and ceiling. We pull more coving out than anything (not original features).

thanks- my parents thought it was a bit steep, though maybe as they get theirs at a knock down rate via a friend.

Offer them cash - no VAT. But GET 3 QUOTES ANYWAY.
