Pressure testing central heating

Hi all,

If I wanted to test my plumbing can I test it from the filling loop on the boiler? Will the pressure dial still move if disconnected from electric

Am I right in thinking I would have to attach one flow pipe to a return pipe together ? Or connect a radiator..

Depends on make of boiler some are electronic others are a standard gauge, flow and return would need linking

Any radiator in the system will accomplish that
