Sorry its taken so long to get back to you with a small progress report on my leckie problem but the MOD required my services somewhere hot... damned hot, bloody inconsiderate for me in the middle of the rewire from hell.
The lights dimming with varying degrees was traced back to a kitchen switch that was put in by the muppet b4 me. Amazingly after tracing and mapping the light lives and neutrals throughout the house as per your instructions i noticed that although they worked... almost, the pattern was out on this switch alone, when put in the same configeration as the other light switches in the house they worked.... yipee.
Thanks again to all who helped ... not only with this fault but the other doozzies that i've found.
