Starting to get ready for spring jobs ready for the summer and the main job is to build a shed for the back garden.

I have a nice position between the boundary fence and a large tree that would be perfect but it's a large tree with raised root area which would prevent a standard ground base.

I plan to raise the shed base 1ft off the floor to prevent future interruption from the roots.

How is best to do this I have considered the below

1) strip footings front and back with blockwork dwarf wall to sit joists on (worried the roots will prevent getting the depth of footting required)
2) dig 2 "post holes" and concrete in then span a concrete lintels between them to sit the joists on.

What have people done on their builds or recommend for me. How deep a strip footing would be needed? Shed will be approx 3m x 2m

I’d be looking at blockwork columns on pad foundations or ground screws
I think that is what i had in my head for Option 2.

Are you suggesting a small pad with a brick/block pier built off it. 2 of these front and 2 back with a lintel spanning between them to build the base off?

a load of pads / ground screws in a grid pattern within the span of whatever half decent sized timber you want as your floor joist/bearers … and don’t think you’d need any lintels
