OK Gent's I just Know I am missing something here but for the life of me I cannot see it.

Called to the above today Iranian family not much English, "no probs says I", get this all the time. "So whats the trouble with the boiler, what has it not been doing".

"Its been leaking and no hot water" says the lady. So up in the loft I pop CSI85 hung right over the hatch  well careful does it  . quick issolation and drain, Off with the DV and out with the diaphragm,  ....

It was shot to bits, easy this got some in the van, shall be having a round in no time

Popped her back together, filled her, Quick lecci check and turned her on.
Now this is where its gone pear shaped, theres no call for heat and no call for water but it fires up  . Turned on the tap and it goes off

check what the pin was doing and with everthing off pin is in so boiler fires, call for water pin comes out and breaks the micro switch, now to me this is the wrong way round. So in me logic I think the diaphragm is'nt seating right and passing, stripped and checked and it was ok. Put it all back together and the same happening again.

So does anyone no why?.
Iam stumped

Cheers

It sounds like someone's been playing with the wiring before you got there, I did one today and with everything off the pin is in, and comes out and makes the switch with a call for h/w, which then fires the burner. I've no idea how it could be wired to work the opposite way though, i'm no agile or chrisr.

edit or bamber :D

I'd agree, unless the switch has had water in it so it's just gone bonkers, it sounds like someone's reversed the NO and NC connections on the miicroswitch.

I'll see if I've got a manula..

Cheers Sooey
Cheers Chris

Been on ther website and had a look at the manual  poor quality on the Schamatics, print ok though.

Now Ive looked and sat and thought about it, It does seem the microswitch. This should sit in normally open and close for demand, but its working opposite way round.

So at rest the pin should be in.
Demand pin should come out.

Wish I had'nt answered the phone now, was a withheld No, I dont answer them as a rule but did'nt look this time. :x

Oh well live and learn

Got there...

so just swap the green wire on the end of the microsiwitch to the other spade connector. You want the one I marked red.

Have you knobbled the bath yet.....(wispers in ear emoticon)

I don't answer that many questions on here, and when I do all you minesweepers swoop in and rob me ale

Craig - one other possibility crossed my mind.
Did you take the whole DV out and take it apart,( or just split it in situ?) If so, is it possible you got the in and out of the dhw section reversed? As you know it all rotates, so it could be possible if there's bendy pipes.

I know it can be done on at least one boiler, an ancient Ideal Sprint, because, well, I was young and...
