Hi,

We moved into our house about a year ago. The boiler has never been quite right, it's always difficult to get constant hot water out of it. The boiler was installed in 2003.

The boiler in question is a Ravenheat RSF82E, we have a 4 bedroom semi-detached house with 7 radiators and a towel rail. The heating itself is fine but it's becoming increasingly difficult to set the taps so we can run a hot bath, it starts off warm and then goes cold after a few seconds unless the tap is set to a trickle (much less and the boiler cuts out).

We also have a problem that the pressure keeps going down and we keep having to top it up once a week.

Do i need a new boiler or should I get an engineer out to fix this?

I'm not sure how to proceed with this, all i want is to be able to turn on the taps and have hot water come out so I can have a bath, shouldn't be too much to ask for :-)

Cheers

Gordon

I would suggest getting someone out, you've probably got mor than one possible faults, in no particular order;
a) plate h/ex needs cleaning.
b) thermister.
c) prv needs changing
d) exp vessel needs recharging.
This list is not exhaustive.
