Hi there i wonder if any one could give me some advice, Im looking to swap my old consumer unit with a new one, I am very competent with electrics and intend to carry the work out myself (controversially!) Is there anyway i can get the work inspected and certificated as i know that its a big no no doing it yourself these days!
Sorry its a dull question but would just like a few pointers!

you can do it yourself providing you inform the LABC first. They will then inspect your work when you've finished and issue a certificate upon satisfactory completion.

...for a fee. they will also make you fill out forms, submit plans, and jump through various hoops. Unless you are lucky.

Prepare yourself by reading our Wiki on this (see above... above... above)

edit: bah, too slow :x

If you need to find a tradesperson to get your job done, please try our local search below, or if you are doing it yourself you can find suppliers local to you.

Select the supplier or trade you require, enter your location to begin your search.
