I fitted a radiator about 2 years ago and now need to remove it from the wall to decorate. Unfortunately I have lost the cap that you fit where the Themostat is to stop water leaking.
Where can I purchase one of these caps?
Cheers.

They are actually quite hard to just go out and buy which is why i keep a good selection!! lol

Anyway it would depend on what make of valve is fitted as the all vary to some degree.

I'm guessing from your name that you are from the sutton coldfield area? If so pop and see the guys at plumb center in minworth. theyre a good bunch there and may have some lying around or spares that will help you.

Worst case scenario, wait till its warm enough so that the 0 function on the rad shuts the water off. Should be around 6-7 degrees and you shouldn't have a problem.

There are other ways but it depends on the type of system you have.

use a blanking cap when radiator removed or do the 5 pence trick placed inside the trv control and screw back on to valve and shut to the lowest setting.

as seco says...dont muck about hust get some blanking caps. they do both 1/2 ans 3/4...from plumbersw merchants or even b and q
