I am replacing a 4 wire thermostat with Sunvic 4101 which has 4 wires.

Question 1 - Can this be done?

Question 2 - If so how do I do it?

Current wires are:

Red - 1, Blue - 2, Yellow - 3, Green Earth

Red = Live a.k.a. common
Blue = neutral
Yellow = Switched live
Green/yellow as you say is earth

Your new stat should come with a wiring diagram and theres usually one printed on the back of the stat.

You should be able to work it out from there.
