Can I check my understanding of something, and perhaps make a suggestion too ?

The "remove a radiator" article is quite clear, but I believe when it comes to putting the radiator back (or indeed adding a new one), things are different for open / sealed systems.

For a sealed system, when you turn the valve to reconnect the Rad to the system, I believe you also have to top-up the system using the filling loop. I believe care is needed to keep it between 1-1.5 bars while the Rad is filling.

SUGGESTION: this should be more explicit in the article, with a link to the following:

If I've misunderstood anything, I'd hugely appreciate being told, as tomorrow I'm about to embark on this myself .... my boiler is quite new so I don't want to ruin it !! (I have a Worcester Greenstar with the filling loop very obviously at the front of it ;-)

Boiler will obviously be off. Open rad valves and bleed, if pressure drops to 0 before water comes out, then re top up to 1 bar and bleed again.

When water comes out of air bleed check pressure and top up to just over 1bar. Close filling loop both ends.

THANKS - that's what I understood.

Turn boiler off (of course, I should have said) ... but no need to drain the whole system ;-) So heating in other rooms while we decorate .... quite important just now !!

Thanks again. Mike
