Currently have Drayton RF1 all working ok.
I turn the t/s down every night as I do not want the house as warm in the morning as the evening.
Is there a direct replacement for this stat that can control temp with time.
WITHOUT ADDITIONAL WIRING.

Same backplate even - RF2 is 24 hour programmable, RF3 7 days all different but don't even think about trying to program it without the manual!
I think they have a new version(s) which might be easier to live with, but may need backplate swapping.

The Honeywell CM67RF still only uses 2 wires, and you may prefer it. But if you stray from Drayton you'll need to swap the receive end box too - in fact Drayton changed frequencies a couple of years ago too.
There are lots of others too now - Horstmann, SUnvic, Danfoss, etc.

ANything which uses a battery in the transmitter end won't need any more wires.

ChrisR ... Thanks.. I think the RF2 would do for what I want, so is it just a case of programming the RF2 & getting to coomunicate with the RF1 receiver

Drayton changed frequencies a couple of years ago ,

so maybe

you'll need to swap the receive end box too
