hi. i'm thinking about putting my old neandathol skills to putting together a kit car. after months of deliberation i have narrowed my choice to the morgan style three wheeler. this usually involves the running gear from a motor guzzi and loads of other stuff. i would like to do it as cheap as i can and would apreciate all the help and advice available. here's hoping, chris. ps. road leagal so that i can look a right numpty!

Try and get one with skinny car tyres. I once investigated a near-fatal accident with one of those - it rolled. Part of the problem was that it was on relatively modern bike tyres - which have so much more grip than the old Morgan 3 wheelers. The guy just went into a bend and instead of sliding, it lifted the inside front wheel. As the roll angle increased, the bike tyre got onto its even softer, grippier bit of compound forbanked turns and gripped even better, so it just fell over. For that reason, I prefer the Citroen 2CV based ones.

very nice cobra. is it based on the searra? and what if u don't mind me asking was the build cost?
its a gardner douglas model, jaguar xj6 running gear with a mustang v8.

just plan it well, it can spiral out of control if your not carefull
so far i have planned nothing, in fact i'm still in the dreaming stage. there are so many styles to choose from that it can be mind boggling! another problem that i have found is that i would like a rear wheel drive kit car and donor cars are now becoming quite rare if you are looking for a reasonable runner and seem to hold their value. still i will keep looking.
