Hi All,

I have a Robinson Willey R.S. living flame gas fire vintage 1999 and have a problem. The fire ignites when turned on and controls work fine however after the fire has been on for around an hour it won't turn off and I have to turn off the gas suppy tap underneath the gas valve to shut it down. When it's cooled down everything works fine again. It's obviously heat related but before I rush out and buy a new gas tap, extension spindle and control knob from Robinson Willey has anyone come across this problem before?

Cheers

Steve

It may just be the Gas Tap requires greasing. After a few years the grease in the taps can harden or just disappear. It will require a Gorgi man though.

Thanks Macfud, I'll see if I can get my mate to have a look at it I think he's a corgi registered gas fitter. Failing that it's a new fire as Robinson Willey tell me the Gas Tap for my model is now obselete!!
