Bit rusty at the mo; got a mail shot offer for a 1TB Seagate drive today & fancy one to satisfy my ever increasing storage requirements.

Question; I notice SATA II seems to have appeared with a 300mb interface, my current Mobo is a KV2 Lite around 2 years old currently running SATA drives (but presumably SATA I :? ). Before I click the “Checkout” button, can anyone give me a definitive answer as to weather or not my current Mobo will be compatible with the SATA II drives?

Sorry if this has appeared previously & is in the archive but I need a quick answer!

I'm pretty sure the connectors are identical - backwards compatibility and all that. There may be a jumper you have to move to tell your new drive that it is connected to a 150mb rather than a 300mb interface...

I only know this because google is my friend...
