The manager of my local pub wants to "refresh" the tops of some of the tables, however, he wants those tables to be usable from 11am the next day. I did say that I could spray them with worktop grade 2K but that they would stink for days. I also pointed out that having to clean the gun out every day would be time consuming.

I advised against waterbased varnishes because of the blushing if someone doesn't use a beer mat.

I see that Osmo sell a hardener for Polyx-oil. That becomes touch dry in 1-2 hours. I will email them about suitability but would be interested to see if anyone can recommend a better product.

Many thanks.

What about rocktop ?
Smith and Rodger Rocktop

You could as also coat them one at a time and allow for drying but as you say it's the gun cleaning. You using HVLP?

Can something like bona traffic be used on tables? 3 hour drying time.

Thanks @Wayners - I hadn't thought of Rocktop. My (perhaps unfounded) concern is that water sitting on waterbased finishes tends to blush the finish (temporarily). I will email Smith and Rodger. I have found them to be very helpful in the past.

If I were to spray, yeah it would be HVLP, unfortunately. It is not practical to spray on site and there is no exterior space to work. It is a small pub.

Once I hear back from Osmo, if they don't have anything suitable, I will ask Bona.

Many thanks.
