Hello
I’m having a concrete base and decking installed next to some existing krend on a wall. Just wondered if it should be covered up somehow?
Cheers

Twin splashing up wall going to be a problem?
Bit of gravel or aco drain along wall if required.
Re concrete. Fall short of house . Leave a gap a fill with gravel

Yes you need to protect the render from concrete splashing on to it as you will never remove any staining afterwards. They also need to make sure they don't dig the ends of beams or planks into it as patching up later will not be successful if they dislodge any pieces. Take plenty of before pics.

Got it. I think he said there will be a gap between the render and the decking and possibly filled with gravel..

I took some more of the cracks and render.

Presumably the side wood planks will stay and he’ll cover it with the decking/fascia?

Looks like it's a bit late to cover it against concrete splashing onto it. I presume you mean rain water splashing up off the concrete in which case yes gravel should help. I don't think it will make any difference if they leave or remove the concrete shuttering if the decking is going to cover it. Are you going to be painting the render when they have finished.

I think the marks are mud. But need to wash it down.
My concern is the exposed tender at the bottom (weak?) and the gaps, and what could happen to it damage, weathering etc over time?
So once the feeling is down you’d stuck gravel in the gaps?

OP,
The render should finish above the DPC - if it goes down & makes ground contact it can bridge the DPC.
Why not use a pic to point out where the DPC is?
So what you call "the gaps" is rough looking but if the render finishes above the DPC, & doesnt make ground contact then its fine.
If it doesnt then it needs cutting back to a higher line.
If the concrete meets the wall below the DPC then it should also be fine.
Are the inside floors solid or suspended?
How do you intend to support the deck?

The cracks in the render are minor & can be filled with Polysulphide from a gun cartridge.

I believe the dpc goes below the render from what I can see.
So there was grass here before and there was paving slabs between the grass and render before the builder removed and dug down for the concrete base he’s put in.

It’s all outdoors. There’s no internal walls behind.

I believe he has ordered proper decking joists. They are supported by the context I presume..

The cracks in the bottom of the render are due to the digging down. Would you still fill these in or just fill/cover with concrete after the decking is in?

Cheers

Here’s the latest on the decking and the k rend.
The deck panel next to the wall was “no nailsed “ in and it seems a bit wobbly.
Have asked the boulder to get brackets.
