In my first floor bathroom I have a cold water storage tank in a cupboard about six foot off the floor and below that a wotsit tank for storing the heated water, which is nicely lagged. In the corner is a shower cubicle.
The attic above was converted into another bedroom so the previous owners were probably hesitant about putting the tanks into the eaves (is that a dodgy place for them??) of the roof of the house, so they put a pump tight against the base of the shower and the water is pumped about six foot across the bathroom to the shower and then up about six foot.
At some stage the pump will no doubt need to be replaced at a fair cost to me, so would I be able to have a decent shower flow with a different form of boiler (currently a Suprima HE) or set-up, or would it be best to make do with a new pump and the current sytem? Which is the best economically?

This has been discussed fairly extensively in the 'Best power shower from a combi...' thread below.

The simplest way is to have a combi with a suitable shower mixer, but this depends upon a good mains water flowrate.

There are other posters on the site who will knock and mock whatever anyone else posts. Ultimately, you have to make your own choice. Just beware of the ranters.
