hello all- new to this DIY game and recently taken on a sizeable decorating project in my new house.
I have a question about the sequence I'm planning on doing things in for the first room we're attacking.
So far we've:
stripped the 1970's wallpaper from the walls
skimmed the ceilings and painted them
filled and smoothed the walls to prepare them for wallpaper
The other things we want to do are:
liven up the skirting boards & door frames with a new coat of paint
replace the carpet
My thinking was that I need to sand the skirting boards first then paint them.
However- what do I do about the carpet? Do you lift it up around the boards or do you paint down to the carpet line? Probably a stupid question but I am a total novice.
Any advice much appreciated.
