I want to create a series of paths in the garden, cutting across what is currently lawn. We're in the Snowdonia national park and so are surrounded by slate, so was thinking of using slate chippings.
I'm worried, however, that the chippings will be too loose to push a wheelbarrow over (this is the veg bit of the garden), but I don't want to put slabs down as they become very slippery.
The local forest paths are slate, but perhaps mixed with something or just compressed by 1000s of dog walkers (see pic)
Is there a way I can get the same effect or can you suggest a wheelbarrow friendly alternative?
