Soundbar Vs low-end surround sound?

This is just what I did yesterday, and ended up with a fairly low end but surprisingly substantial Yamaha 5.1 system. Rushed to set it up and watched Force Awakens at midnight... Lovely. Definitely the right direction to go.

I went into Richer Sounds for a Humax-type thing, a few years ago.

Emerged with a Yamaha system, in a box the size of a washing machine :mrgreen:

Had a similar decision to make recently, opted for the receiver/surround over a soundbar. Still havn't got it set up yet but over the moon with my choice none the less.
