Why should they get gongs (although we all know that Liablair will hand 'em out like confetti anyway)? So, they won a medal at the Olympics. Yep, that will change the face of humanity for the better.

Why should any sports person get a gong? They are supposed to be in recognition of public service, but have transmogrified into whoever a*se-licks/pays the current incumbents at Westminster some payola/done some sport awards. Dame Kelly whatever her name is, puhleez.

Mind you, calling them "heroes" gets my goat somewhat more.

had 6 unoffical days of work in my life , tell Gordo were's my gong, all the tax i must have paid some of it must have gone to help the whatever's, and sad acts ,so as a long term contribitor i must deserve something joe 90, what reward for the long term worker, a good pension would be enough for me,

Have to agree re the hero nonsense!!


Why does winning a gold medal make you hero?

To me a hero is someone saving property/life with some sort of risk attached ( a big risk)
