I brought a zafira 2.0 cdti 2014 tourer with 90k on the clock.
I was driving it the other week and all of a sudden it lost power and when i got it home the exhaust absolutely stank (cant put me finger on the smell but doesn't smell like rotten egg) i had the aa come out and look it over he put it on a diagnostic machine but there were no faults he reved the engine and said it was mechanical..... Off to the garage it goes.
The garage thought it was map sensor so £170 and a 2 week wait for the part later ive picked it up this morning having seen the sensor they took off, it was to say the least clogged. Took it out the garage and the problem still exists but to add to it there is now a tapping noise under acceleration.
Any help would be really appreciated i would like to if possible try and fix myself as money is tight as most people with a zafira probably know a larger family and tight budget isnt helpful when trying to sort a car.
