Tap with double check valve, should it be internal?

Quick question guys.
Plumber quoted me to fit an outside tap for me, when i mentioned a double check valve he said it is built into the tap

I thought these had to be internal?

He is the expert but i was surprised.

1. If it's a new installation, the check valve must be within the thermal envelope of the building.
2. If it's a replacement of an existing tap which itself had a built in check valve, then another tap with a built in check valve is allowed.
3. Water Regulation 15.20 refers.

Thanks it is a new installation, with that in mind i am surprised the plumber recommended the valve be on the tap? is it because it is easier to fit?

Daft question, but if the plumber has already bought a tap with internal check valve, would it matter if there was a check valve internally and on the tap?

No, that's fine. As above, new installation needs an internal one.

It is easy enough to remove the check valves from the tap if not required.
