Thought it may have been a Grohe of 8yrs old in a new build.

I'd expect some markings if it was.
I doubt it, with those shape control knobs and no "Grohe" imprint on the body.
Google Lens suggests
https://www.fixthebog.uk/aqualisa-910071-replacement-contract-midas-100fs-bar-valve/ which has similar shaped handles, temperature control on right and mixed connection out to hose on left... but it could easily be A N Other brand.
