similar happened to a flight i was on trying to land at bangkok in a major storm.

quite a severe crosswind blew just as he was about to flare. plane was all over the place. pilot put all the engines back up to full to get up again, ive never felt a plane shake so violently in all my life he circled and landed no problem second time. 30 minutes later a jumbo ran off the end of the runway into a golf course

it was quite cool thinking about it afterwards though, gives a real sense of how much power they have.

I don't know about your ticker, but it would get my bum doing the halfacrown sixpence routine

it was only an interesting 30 seconds in my relatively boring life, but i did have few stiff drinks afterwards. the captain probably had more than that
