A lot of these old flats used copper for the waste pipes, looks like something has come adrift and made the pipes live, very sad to see someone lose their life like this, I wonder what he was doing working on new years day.

I bet the house holder poured bleach down the sink before hand. Then called out an emergency plumber who used acid. He should of used a Sani-snake.
